The man behind the thanks

I have loved beer since I was a little kid stealing sips from my father's glass, and I had the good fortune to grow up in Portland and Denver, two American beer meccas. I began brewing craft beer in 1988, before it was called Craft Beer, at the venerable Wynkoop Brewing Company while still in college. It became one of the largest brewpubs on the planet. There I honed my skills by making a wide variety of ales, lagers, ciders, and meads. Over the course of the last three decades, I have designed, installed, and managed dozens of award-winning breweries across the country, plus consulted in the Caribbean, Mexico, Guatemala, and Taiwan. I also served on the board of the Brewers Association, was a speaker at several Craft Brewers Conferences, and was a beer judge at the Great American Beer Festival and World Beer Cup Competitions.

I am eminently excited and honored to be back in rubber boots brewing clean, high-quality, flavorful new and traditional beers for our guests at the Buffalo Olde Brewery. After all these years and miles, I still firmly believe that delicious beer is the elixir that creates conversation and community.
